Quick jump: Role, Work Examples

Overview

Galactic Battleground is an award-winning (Midwest Gaming Classic 2022; 2D Con 2019 - 1, 2), retro-inspired arcade game featured in arcades across the country. As the Director of Marketing and Communications, I headed the marketing efforts, strategized a launch campaign, created content, and contributed to the overall development of the game.

Marketing efforts for the launch campaign were mostly experiential-focused, consisting of arcade conference attendance, arcade features and pop-ups, tournaments, and other video game or culturally adjacent event appearances.

While much of the marketing strategy was concentrated on physical experiences due to the nature of arcade games, we still invested in social and other digital content to further our reach and tap into arcade communities across the country.

Early successes included coverage of the game by Minneapolis TV station, WCCO, via their social channels and placement in the most trafficked arcade bar in Minneapolis, Up-Down.

In addition to my marketing role, our small team all contributed to the game design - playtesting the game, surveying users in the field, conceptualizing new features and game functionality, and more.
